Fans of Disney’s Zootopia are in for a treat. This September, Dark Horse Comics will release a 48-page graphic novel featuring two stories about young Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps. Disney’s Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue comic marks the fourth collaboration between Disney and Dark Horse.
What’s happening:
- According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney and Dark Horse Comics will release a Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue comic later this year.
- The graphic novel will feature two stories, about favorite Zootopia characters, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps.
- Disney’s Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue will be geared towards younger readers.
- In Judy’s story we’ll see her save the day—and her friend Dinah— at the Bunnyburrow County Fair.
- Nick on the other hand will need to use his “skills” to give his friend Hedy the best birthday ever.
- Both stories are written by Jimmy Gownley, and will feature the artwork of Leandro Ricardo da Silva, with coloring and lettering by Wes Dzioba and Chris Dickey.
- Disney’s Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue will debut on September 12th.
- This will be the fourth collaboration between Disney and Dark Horse Comics. In January the two companies announced a 3-part Disney’s Frozen mini series to debut in August.

- Dark Horse and Disney will also release Disney/Pixar’s Incredibles 2: Heroes at Home graphic novel and Disney/Pixar’s Incredibles 2: Crisis in Mid-Life and Other Stories miniseries.
- Marvel is about to release Star Wars #50. The milestone comic story is written by Kieron Gillen and will be available on July 4th.
