Patrick Kling and Kristen Waldbieser, authors of Stories from the Magic Kingdom announced today that their book is already an Amazon Best Selling book after going on sale earlier this week. The Disney Parks-inspired book is a collection of fanciful stories set in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, one for each of the six lands of the park. Readers take a grand circle tour of exploration, mystery, intrigue, exotic thrills, and things that go bump in the mansion. Like the lands themselves, each story is told in different styles, genres, and narration. The fiction book is also intended for older audiences.
“For Disney fans of our generation, the Disney books stop after elementary school, and there is nothing out there to satisfy that need,” Waldbieser says. “We wanted to create something that we wanted to enjoy and that others of any age would enjoy as well.”
As industry insiders, the authors went into painstaking detail ensuring the book could seamlessly blend into the Magic Kingdom universe.
“As a theme park creator, I take details very seriously,” Kling says. “We scoured every nook of the Magic Kingdom in search of inspiration for our stories. It’s packed full of references and Easter Eggs that will make any Disney Parks fan scream. References to extinct attractions, you bet. Obscure lines of dialogue inspiring entire scenes? Absolutely.”
In addition to teaming up with Mr. Tom Morrow, readers will brave the danger with the intrepid skippers of the Jungle Cruise, attend a swingin’ birthday party in the Haunted Mansion, dive into the fearsome bowels of Big Thunder Mountain, take the villain’s side in an all-out assault on Fantasyland, and ride a Main Street train to an enchanted station not on any map. It’s packed full of references and Easter Eggs that will make any Disney Parks fan scream.
