Once again if you are looking for something interesting, exciting and more importantly different – you have stumbled upon the wrong place. The weather throughout Central Florida is exactly what it has been the last couple of things which depending on your mood can be either a good or bad thing. If you like heat, it’s a good thing because temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s through the weekend. If you like rain – well its a good and bad thing because while percentages are hovering around 40 percent, there’s a good chance you’ll have some though it isn’t a guarantee.
What has changed since yesterday is that we welcomed Tropical Depression 5 to the party Wednesday afternoon. As expected computer models are all over the place on where this system will go and how strong it will get. Smart money is on seeing Ernesto develop sometime tomorrow (likely the afternoon) while wind sheer is still in the moderate range. As the storm trudges westward there is some higher wind sheer to its north and some models have this impacting the storm while another one gives it a pretty clean bill of health as it marches towards the Caribbean. We will have to wait and see. I like the idea of it being ripped apart by wind sheer but this is the time of year where anyone in Florida and along the east coast needs to watch things closely.
If you are interested and don’t already follow me on Twitter (@WDW_Weather) I will provide information as it comes through throughout the day Thursday.
