Walt Disney was always been described as very patriotic. From him dressing as Abraham Lincoln in fifth grade and reciting the Gettysburg address on the 16th President’s birthday to the creation of the first human audio-animatronic figure for the 1964 World Fair, there was never a doubt of that great man’s love for this country.
So, of course, if you are looking for one of the biggest celebrations in all of these United States of America to celebrate our independence, you need not look further than Walt Disney World. With events like a themed golf cart parade at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds (video thanks to our friend Jeff Lange at Mousesteps.com) you can tell the true meaning of this holiday is not forgotten by the Walt Disney Co.
I have always had a love of the Voices of Liberty. As one of the longest staples of entertainment at Walt Disney World, it is great to see them really put in the spotlight for a very moving concert on the America Garden Stage.
Of course, the highlight of the 4th is one of the largest pyrotechnic displays you will find anywhere. This display draws guests from all over the world and is so big they do it twice — once on the 3rd and then again on the 4th — but that doesn’t stop it from creating one of the busiest days in the Magic Kingdom.
The display is so large, guests book monorail loop hotels rooms and dining just to get a unique vantage point for the special 360 view.
But nothing beats being in the Magic Kingdom and seeing Cinderella Castle with the amazing fireworks all around you.
Happy Indepenence Day!
