The AP is reporting that Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo will be dubbed into the Navajo language. It is the second major film to be dubbed into the language following Star Wars.
Senior Vice President of Disney Character Voices Rick Dempsey said in a statement, “We’re thrilled that, though our film ‘Finding Nemo’ and the unforgettable adventures of Nemo, Marlin and Dory, we’ll be able to help the museum share and inspire future generations to embrace the Navajo language.”
The script has already been translated and voice actor auditions will take place Dec. 19 and 20 in the tribal capital of Window Rock. The dubbed edition of the film is expected to be released in the Spring.
Disney is currently working on a sequel to Finding Nemo entitled Finding Dory.
