Every year Hasbro holds a Global Day of Joy, where the Hasbro Inc. empowers its 5,000 + employees to go out and volunteer and give back to the community and more specifically help give joy to children during the holiday season! This year the Global Day of Joy fell on December 4th and a dozen Hasbro employees spent their day helping decorate the worlds largest and only life sized CANDY LAND game, also known as Matthew’s Boundless Playground at Give Kids The World.
For those of you not familiar with Give Kids The World (GKTW), it is a 70-acre non-profit Resort very close to Walt Disney World that helps create those special memories for children with life- threatening illnesses and their families. The village alone is amazing with 144 Villas, a mini golf course, horseback riding, and countless themed areas where there is more to see and do there then some of the theme parks.
The group of Hasbro employees along with Matthews father spent a few hours transforming CANDY LAND into a holiday wonderland, attaching ribbons, hanging giant ornaments, and installing more than a few light up candy canes along the game path.
After everything is decorated kids were invited to play a game of CANDY LAND and then had a chance to pick and take home from any number of Hasbro games/toys that were brought out for this special day.
