With the release date of Disney’s highly anticipated sequel Mary Poppins Returns less than two weeks away, it makes sense that the Disney theme parks would start cross-promoting the movie in some way. At the original Disneyland in Southern California, that’s exactly what’s happened, as a new “The Art of Mary Poppins Returns” display featuring artwork, props, and one costume from the film has opened in Town Square’s Opera House, home of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
Previously, an exhibit dedicated to Walt Disney’s passion for steam trains occupied the Opera House lobby, and now glass casings containing Mary Poppins Returns‘ iconic kite, carpet bag, umbrella, and even one of Mary Poppins’ own outfits (worn by esteemed actress Emily Blunt) are available for guest viewing in that space at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Also, on the walls surrounding the lobby area are a number of framed concept art pieces showcasing notable scenes and locations from Mary Poppins Returns. Though Disney fans are obviously already excited for the release of the film, this display can’t help but generate even more buzz for the movie among Disneyland guests.
Helmed by Chicago director Rob Marshall, Mary Poppins Returns stars Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) as the practically perfect title character, Hamilton creator and Moana songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack the Lamplighter, Emily Mortimer (Match Point) as Jane Banks, Ben Whishaw (Cloud Atlas) as Michael Banks, Colin Firth (Mamma Mia!) as William Wilkins, Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada) as Topsy, Angela Lansbury (Beauty and the Beast) as Balloon Lady, and original Mary Poppins star Dick Van Dyke as Mr. Dawes Jr.
“The mysterious Mary Poppins returns to Depression-era London to visit Jane and her brother Michael, now a father of three, and helps them rediscover the joy they knew as children.”
Mary Poppins Returns is set to fly into theaters on Wednesday, December 19.
