Just when the dust begins to settle from Irene, we’re already watching Katia. While I was extremely concerned about Irene from the get go – most models are in agreement that this newly formed storm should spare the East Coast, but I’ll give a little insight into it at the bottom.
For today, remember that little transition day that we talked about – yeah that was supposed to be today. Not gonna happen. In fact if you thought there was a lot of moisture in the air yesterday, it’s even higher today. So we are going to go with a LIKELY chance of rain today and rain could be heavy at times so you’ll want to get all of your theme parking out of the way before about 1pm. There is already a tremendous amount of shower activity to our south and west as of 9am so I’m thinking it’s only a matter of time before most parts of Orlando see some rain.
Temperatures will continue to be uncomfortable (thanks to humidity) and in the 90, fluctuating for the rest of the week between the low and mid 90s.
I’ll keep my eye on Katia, but it’s not time to cancel those Labor Day plans just yet.
