Hey you guys tell me – would you like me to do a tropical update at the beginning of these things through the season – the end – or do you just not care? I ask because it’s only the second day of the Atlantic Hurricane season and low and behold … the National Hurricane Center is watching two areas (though one of them is a straight up bust near Louisiana). The second area though is just to the south of Nicaragua and according to some models, upper levels winds (which right now are unfavorable to allow circulation to develop) should diminish and this thing could try to get it’s act together in the next two or three days if it can survive. It’s WAY too early to be all THAT concerned, and water temperatures are still heating up – but as a weather guy – this is the type of thing we are looking for. So stay tuned and if you are traveling to WDW this summer I’ll always try to give a detailed tropical briefing.
I just spent so much time talking about that because well, there’s not much else to say. After those quick moving storms rolled through (pats self on shoulder), there’s a whole lot of dry air behind it and basically through much of the weekend it looks like it will remain dry. In fact, dry air will continue to mix down from the upper levels to limiting really any rain chances. Temperatures should be right where they SHOULD be for this time of year and I’m going with around 90, though we may top out only in the upper 80s. A gradual warming trend will commence as we head through the weekend and I’m looking for mid 90s to return maybe by Sunday into Monday.
The chance for showers increases Saturday and Sunday and into early next week, but as of now I’m still keeping percentages between 20-30 percent for an isolated shower or thunderstorm. As day to day conditions unfold as always I will try to alert any last minute pop up storms via Twitter (@WDW_Weather).
