It has been a glorious few days for us fans of the Walt Disney Company. Let's take a look at some of our early Christmas presents.
1. Enchanted is awesome. I loved it. But it also performed well at the box office. It is important that this transitional film does well. It proves people still have an affinity for Disney classics. This sets the way for the most anticipated film of calander year 2007, National Treasure 2 with the new Goofy short attatched.
2. John Lassetter announced the John Ratzenberger will be in Wall-E. YAY!!! Dreams do come true.
3. We had our first animation event at DCA to kick off the new Snow White exhibit at the animation building. One of the tidbits that came out of the panel discussion was that Bob Iger made the decision to acquire the artwork used to create the exhibit. Thanks to Bob for spending some money to acquire a piece of our heritage, and we didn't even have to give up a sportscaster this time.
4. Disney announced that Bolt will be released in Disney Digital 3-D. I am starting to get excited about this film. I know there was a little controversy when Chris Sanders was let go as director, but I hear the film is doing well. But most importantly, I need new glasses for my collection.
5. Soar won!!! The Anaheim City Council got some sense and overturned their decision to allow residential development inside the Anaheim Resort.
6. I started getting Disney Channel On Demand. I can't tell you how many times, I wish The Suite Life of Zack and Cody was on, but now I can watch it whenever I want.
7. The castle lights, both at Disneyland and Walt Disney World are amazing. I was very skeptical, but they are much more beautiful than I could have dreamed. I am happy to be wrong in this case.
8. I got my reimbursment check from Disney Mobile for the cost of my phone since they are shutting down. That check will come in handy as I do my Christmas shopping throughout Walt Disney World.
9. Ratatouille crossed the $600 million mark. "The best reviewed film of the year," has been a nice sleeper hit for Disney. Lets hope the streak can continue with "Wall-E".
10. I saw the trailer for, "College Road Trip" starring Raven and Martin Lawrence. Ok, maybe not everything with Disney is good. But who knows, maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.
