The Gran Destino has officially opened at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resorts. Walt Disney World executives and Mickey Mouse commemorated the occasion with an early morning ceremony.
The festivities began with a performance by Passion of Flamenco. After a musical opening the ceremony was led by former Walt Disney World Ambassador Vanessa Rosas. She was joined by Thomas Mazloum, Senior Vice President of Resorts, Premium Services, Disney Springs, Water Parks, and Sports. He discussed how Gran Destino Tower is the centerpiece of the completely reimagined Coronado Springs Resort which aims to not only serve guests on vacation, but conference attendees as well.
Mickey then took the stage accompanied by Coronado Springs Resort cast members who were sporting their new costumes. Speaking of costumes, some roles feature a “mix-and-match” option so each cast member can sport their own look.
And with the Disney-staple of a confetti burst, the Gran Destino Tower was officially opened.
