How did you celebrate the kids going back to school? For a mother of two in Central Florida, the day was spent at Walt Disney World. Lisa DiNoto didn’t just go and play, she made sure to grab her “I’m Celebrating…” button and stopped to take pictures with Cast Members and Disney characters.
DiNoto lives close to the parks, has her own website,The Castle Run, and visits Disney regularly with her family. So it wasn’t like she planned a trip just for this occasion, but that didn’t make it any less fun.
Good Morning America spoke with Di Noto about her epic celebration of the start of the school year.
"It seemed totally natural to pop into Magic Kingdom after I dropped the boys off at school to take a fun 'Celebrating Being Here Alone' moment."
DiNoto started her morning by getting her celebration pin and from there, everything followed its own course, "After I grabbed the pin, I saw some of the Citizens of Main Street U.S.A. out and about and had the idea to have them hold the pin. They got such a kick out of it that I just kept going."
The Fairy Godmother even contributed a little magic to DiNoto’s day, "She reached into her sleeve and pulled out a bag of pixie dust and handed it to me and said, 'This is for you and only you. You use it today.' It was one of those moments of connection that is really what the parks are all about."
What did DiNoto’s boys think of her Disney day? "They were excited for their first day at school and I was excited for some time alone. Pickup time came soon enough and all of us had lots of fun sharing the details of our day."
DiNoto told GMA that during her magical adventure, she spotted another guest reading her celebration pin and the two ladies has a brief conversation. "This sweet mom who was clearly very tired and in the midst of a lovely family trip was watching at one point and as she read the pin I saw this amazing expression come over her face. It was like a light came on. She said, 'You. You are my life goal. Have the most amazing day you've ever had and do it for all of us.'"
