Deadspin.com is reporting that ESPN is laying off more than 400 of their 7,000 employees today. They also report another source says the number is in the hundreds, but not quite that high. ESPN did confirm to them that they are “implementing changes across the company.” ESPN has been a hugely profitable division of Disney but Disney recently commited to cutting costs across the company. According to the article, ESPN has not had a major staff reduction since 2009.
