As part of the opening day ceremonies SeaWorld teamed with Southwest Airlines to uncover the most frazzled, hectic families and invited them to be a part of the fun. The families stood as they were acknowledged by the crowd.

SeaWorld General Manager and Vice President Dan Brown, "An exciting day that's been years in the making. Finally opening day at Aquatica. Unbelievable! Thank you to everyone who has made it possible.. a labor of love." Dan acknowledges the local government officials and special guests along with those watching their live webcast. "We are committed to keeping Orlando at the forefront of family vacation. Aquatica is the first park to open in Orlando in 8 years. Of course the last time a park opened in Orlando it was Discovery Cove our own park just across the street in the year 2000.
