THEME PARK ADVENTURE MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES BOOT HILL 99: THE EVIL OF JEDEDIAH SMITH
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - October 12, 1999 - Theme Park Adventure Magazine, a boutique publication written for enthusiasts by enthusiasts of the themed entertainment industry, has announced plans for its fourth Boot Hill production, which will be open for viewing Halloween Weekend.
The elaborate yard display, located at 16 Goldenrod in Irvine, California, will make its Fourth Materialization from October 29 - 31, 1999 from dark until the last soul rests each evening. Free to the public, Boot Hill 99: The Evil of Jedediah Smith promises more thrills and chills than ever before.
This year, were going over the top! explained Rick West, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Theme Park Adventure Magazine. For the past several years, everyone in the community has supported our display completely. Each year however, the main request is to make it spookier for the older crowd.
Both West and staff member/Boot Hill co-creator Shea Foley decided to try offering a split-shift for their show this Halloween. From 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. each night, Boot Hill 99 will be completely family-friendly, with more lighting and less fog, which seems to detour many small children. After a short break each night at 8:00 p.m., West and Foley will dim the lighting substantially and let the fog flow through the graveyard heavier than ever before. Other elements will be implemented as well to ensure a scarier experience for visitors to Boot Hill 99.
While Boot Hill may be more adult-oriented this year, West stresses that its still completely acceptable for the entire family. We do not feel that every haunted house or yard display needs to rely on blood and gore to be frightening, said West. Understand were not knocking those attractions that do have those elements. We just feel that eerie and the macabre are better at playing on peoples feelings and nerves. The things that creep around in the fog and go bump in the night - those elements are what Halloween is all about, in our opinions.
Boot Hill 99 will be covered extensively by both The
Irvine World News and OCNow.com (www.ocnow.com
This is all about community, said West. We appreciate the outpouring of support each year and look forward to a fantastic run this season. My staff and I look forward to this project all year long, and invite our readers to stop by and introduce themselves. If youre not already familiar with Theme Park Adventure Magazine, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet us, since most of us will be there in the flesh so to speak!
