Carter to Guest Star on DISNEY CHANNEL Original Series

Teen pop star Aaron Carter will guest star in an upcoming episode of DISNEY CHANNEL's original series, "Lizzie McGuire."

The episode titled "Aaron Carter is Coming to Town" will premiere on March 23 in conjunction with the "Aaron Carter & Samantha Mumba in Concert" special premiering on March 30.

In the episode, Carter, playing himself, travels to a super secret location to film his new Christmas video. Determined to meet the teenage icon, Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo concoct a plan to find the location and crash the set. What the trio doesn't realize is that Lizzie's mom and dad were planning on surprising them with tickets to the ultra-exclusive taping. Carter will perform "I Want Candy" from his Platinum record "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)."

Jive Records recording artist Aaron Carter made an impressive debut at No. 16 on Soundscan's current album chart only days after having both the home video for "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" and his first single of the same title certified Gold by the R.I.A.A. The home video debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Music Videos chart on August 29, and the single remained at the top of the Hot 100 Singles Chart. In his short time in the music business, Aaron has already opened for Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys, performed on The Rosie O'Donnell Show and Good Morning America, and appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. His Platinum album, "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" was released in September 2000. It's an up-tempo album that incorporates pop, soul, R&B, salsa and reggae, and it's all about how to have a good time. From his catchy rap title song and the thick funk cheer of "Bounce," replete with a Latin-flavored countdown and a salsa-fueled backbeat, to the celebratory rhythms of "Real Good Time," "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" is a rich and spirited pop record that sizzles with a lively buoyancy.

"Lizzie McGuire" follows the adventures of Lizzie McGuire (Hilary Duff), a normal 13-year-old surviving adolescence and her animated alter ego. On the exterior, Lizzie is a young teenager navigating the turbulent years of junior high. That means coping with the ever-changing cliques at school, keeping up with what's in and what's out, as well as dealing with a well-meaning mom that is anxious to make her transition into womanhood as smooth as possible. Sassy, sarcastic and sensible, Lizzie's animated self is one part guardian angel and one part mischief-maker. Lizzie's conscience does things most of us only dream of which includes swooning over the cutest boy in school and blowing up (literally) when her mom decides she should miss the party of the year.
