"I don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things - could be bad"
Another Disney controversy is upon us. If you haven't read about the "Black Hoe" controversy, you can read a summary in this Los Angeles Times article. LaughingPlace.com columnists Chris Reed weighed in with his opinions in last week's Guest Relations and a few readers have already had some disagreements. The controversy is also the subject of this week's online poll so let your vote be heard. And please send in your feedback on the matter over the next few days and later in the week we'll publish a special letters column with the some of your opinions.
Summer is drawing to a close at the Disney theme parks. Starting today Disneyland is no longer open until midnight every night. The last day for fireworks is next Monday, Labor Day. That same day will be the last for the current Autopia. A the new sponsor, Chevron, will be moving in and making some major changes. And get those last rides in on the Monorail. Labor Day will be it's last run for a long time as preparation continues for Disney's California Adventure. The Mickey's Corner shopping area below the Monorail will also be closing for good joining the Monorail Cafe and the Neon Cactus in Yesterland.
On a brighter note, last week Disneyexpert once again asserted his talents to win the trivia contest. Only two people got all 15 questions correct, he did it first. Congratulations! This week on LaughingPlace.com we're celebrating some of the legendary Disney animators, imagineers and other artists in our trivia contest and sites of the week. On Wednesday John Frost's Dispatch from Disneyland column will take you through Tarzan's Treehouse in a very special way. We'll also have a feature or two for you, so stay tuned!
