"To Infinity, and Beyond!"
Toy Story 2
I'm a huge fan of Disney animated films. I find them many of them so good, I have a very hard time choosing a favorite. I usually switch between The Little Mermaid, Snow White and now Tarzan. Next is a group containing Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, Bambi and many others without being able to put them in any particular order. I do the same thing when it comes to choosing my favorite Disney attractions and even theme park. The point is, I have a hard time deciding when it comes to Disney.
This weekend, I saw what is unquestionably the funniest Disney movie I have ever seen. Toy Story 2 is so funny, that looking back at the wonderful time I had viewing it Sunday afternoon, I have a hard time believing it was as funny as it was. A Disney movie can't be that funny, can it? Obviously it can and it was. If you're not sure if you want to see Toy Story 2 (and I doubt there are many who feel that way considering how much money it's already made), the choice is real simple. If you want to laugh, see the movie. It's hilarious for any viewer, but especially so for Disney fans.
Toy Story 2 made over $80 million in its opening five days shattering the Thanksgiving record set last year by A Bug's Life ($45 million). The reviews have been almost universally positive. Disney and Pixar have a hit on their hands just when they need it.Let's hope this relationship continues for many years to come. (Note: Originally I mentioned Dinosaur as being the next film up for the Disney/Pixar team. Pixar is not involved in the production of Dinosaur. I apologize for the incorrect information.)

News of the week
It was fairly quiet on the Disney front last week, probably because of the long
weekend. Here are the highlights:
On November 22nd Bob Hope inaugurated a new Disneyland tradition by lighting Main Street and the Christmas Tree. Read LaughingPlace.com's coverage of this emotional event includes the speeches, pictures and a short interview with Cynthia Harriss.
At the Magic Kingdom there is a new bronze statue of Roy O. Disney (Walt's brother) and Minnie Mouse on a bench near the flagpole in Town Square. The statue is a nice match to the "Partners" statue located at the hub showing Walt Disney holding Mickey Mouse's hand.
The Fantasia/2000 CD featuring James Levine conducting the Chicago Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras will be released on November 30th. Click here for much more information on this release or purchase Fantasia 2000 CD from Amazon.com.
LaughingPlace.com has added a small section on the highlights of the Holidays at Walt Disney World. There's also a page on this year's Candlelight Processional. Both sections include links to Walt Disney World holiday sites around the web.
LaughingPlace.com continues to update our Christmas at Disneyland section. Added today are sections on the Hotels, the New Orleans Square River Concert, A Christmas Fantasy Parade and miscellaneous pictures from around the park. The entire collection now has over 250 pictures.
The Rest
The latest Disneyland Update is now available with
pictures and updates from The All New Woody's Roundup, DCA, the final Mulan Parade and
much more. This week's trivia contest is all about the past 15
Disney animated features, one question for each. Check it out, I think you'll find it's
lots of fun. Our Online Poll this week asks the question "How
many of the Christmas presents you buy will be Disney related?"
