Herbie Rides Again

Here at LaughingPlace.com we try very hard to keep the spotlight on Disney, not on ourselves. We know you're here because you want to be kept up-to-date on the latest Disney happenings and read about the theme parks, movies and collectibles. We know you're not here to read about us - we're just the messengers.

But, obviously, there are very real people behind LaughingPlace.com, and we're all big Disney fans with our own favorites and least favorites. For example, my favorite attraction at Disneyland is the Haunted Mansion and one of my least favorites (which I'm almost afraid to admit in such a public place) is Pirates of the Caribbean.

My wife Rebekah (who scours the net and gathers the news headlines you see each day) grew up on Disney to a much greater extent than I did. Her family has probably seen more live-action Disney films than almost anyone. One of her favorites is The Love Bug and she's a big Herbie fan. On our last trip to Walt Disney World we had to visit the All-Star Movie resorts so she could see the giant Herbie. So in this Editor's Report, out of respect for Rebekah, I just want to say Happy Birthday to Herbie who turned 31 on Monday with the anniversary of the release of The Love Bug.

• The March 6th Orlando Sentinel reported NASA will team with Disney in production of EPCOT's Space Pavilion hoping to increase visitors interest in the space program.
• The March 6th Orlando Business Journal reported Walt Disney World experienced record attendance in spite of the opening of Universal Studios new park, Islands of Adventure. The report further discusses the financial woes for Universal Studios in Florida.
• Dewayne's Bean Bag Flash announced upcoming US releases from both the Disney catalog and the Disney Stores.
