Perfect World
On Wednesday I got to do one of my favorite things - go to Disneyland by myself. I love to go to Disneyland with a group. I certainly love to go with Rebekah. But every now and then I really enjoy a trip all by myself. So here is my report from that trip.
I had four goals for this trip:
- See Aladdin
- Do some shopping
- Write trivia questions for our upcoming guest spot on KFMB 760AM's Hooked on Trivia with Mike Cook
- Take notes for this Editor's Report
Take care of the car, Goofy
12:45p - Arrive in the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure, Section Goofy 8E - not too bad.
A quiet day
1:00p - Off the tram and heading towards Disney's California Adventure.
Hello ... anybody home???
1:03p - Arrive at the DCA gate. Three minutes from tram to gate? Slow walking - one of the pleasures of being alone.
1:05p - While walking under the Golden Gate Bridge I ran into someone I knew who thanked me for letting him know about LaughingPlace.com. While not immediately apparent to non-Passholders, Disneyland is just like any other place frequented by a group of people. Eventually, you get to know people. Go often enough and it gets to where you can't spend more than 15 minutes in the Resort without running into someone you know (which isn't a bad thing). In this case it took two minutes.
Goofy is a big draw
1:10p - I'm heading towards Hollywood to see what the Aladdin situation is today (Are they handing out tickets? Are there any left?) On the way there I see Goofy an the gang in front of Hollywood. I think it's standard to have them out front when Goofy's Beach Party Bash isn't running that day. I also notice a wall has been put up around Soap Opera Bistro, I assume for Playhouse Disney Live construction.
1:12p Walking through Hollywood I heard the familiar opening to the Dragnet theme. At least I think it was. It's immediately followed by the theme from Peter Gunn. Is that just an edit Disney put together? Or does Peter Gunn sound more like Dragnet than I realize. Assuming it is Dragnet, it's kind of appropriate since that's ABC's newest drama. Everything old becomes new again.
