LOOKING FOR ROMANCE:
50 FAVORITE ROMANTIC COUPLES
FROM DISNEY FILMS

Part 1 of 2

Spring is in the air, which means one thing for lovers of any age: Valentine’s Day. To celebrate the holiday, Toon Talk has chosen our fifty favorite sweethearts from the Disney films to help you get into the romantic spirit of the season.

Through the years, Disney has given us many wonderful examples of love on the big screen, whether it was in animation or live action (or a combination of the two) or in features or shorts, from classic literary characters to its own cartoon stars.

So cue up your favorite Disney love songs (the characters’ favorites are listed) or pop in the DVD (also noted, if available) and enjoy!

She is a beautiful gypsy who yearns to free her people from oppression. He, as Captain of the Guard, is a symbol of that oppression. Their passionate romance is complicated further by the tragic Quasimodo and the evil Frollo, both of whom also love Esmeralda.

ROBIN HOOD and MAID MARION

FLIK and PRINCESS ATTA

Film: A Bug’s Life (1998)

A good example of nice guys finishing first: Flik, a lowly worker ant and would-be inventor, not only saves his colony from a swarm of greedy grasshoppers, he also wins the heart of the soon-to-be queen, Atta.

BERNARD and BIANCA

Films: The Rescuers (1977) and The Rescuers Down Under (1990)
Voice Actors: Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor
“Their? Song: “Tomorrow Is Another Day?

It must have seemed like any other day for the humble janitor of the Rescue Aid Society. Who knew that a mysterious message in a bottle would not only change his life, but also bring him the love of it in the form of the exotic Hungarian delegate, Miss Bianca? One question though, Bernard: why did it take you thirteen years to propose?
