Well, good morning everyone and welcome! We are so glad that you could join us
here today as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Walt Disney.
It is especially wonderful to be here in the Magic Kingdom where Walt first welcomed the world to the happiest place on earth. And a century after his birth the world is still captivated by the unique contributions to humanity that were made by this extraordinary man. During his lifetime Walt Disney won 32 Academy Awards, more Oscars than anyone in history. He also received over 950 honors and citations from every nation around the world. And he was named appropriately "Showman of the World"
His love of creativity lead to his establishing the California Institute of the Arts to help others fulfill their own aspirations. His dreams and creative vision have continued into a new millennium to delight generations with magical memories that are sure to last forever. And now, as we commemorate this centennial celebration, please join me in welcoming the President of the Disneyland Resort, Cynthia Harriss.
