Still a Magical Kingdom

An afternoon at the Magic Kingdom, never a bad thing! It started off right with a ferry - not Monorail - to the front gate, then lunch at Tony's. Lunch is preferable to dinner at Tony's for us though neither is really great food wise. But the atmosphere is nice and the view on the patio is nice so that makes it worthwhile. While there we saw the cutest thing - a couple of was celebrating their anniversary so the wait staff had them, literally, roll a meatball to each other like the scene from Lady and the Tramp.
While dining we saw a familiar face walking down Main Street. Even in the big, wide Disney World old friends pop out of nowhere sometimes - this one all the way from California. I've written in the past how this whole Disney fan thing is like being a part of a community not all that much different than any other. This was just another example.
While Rebekah talked inside I wandered outside where the Cast Members were entertaining the parade-waiting guests. Saw J. Worthington Foulfellow playing jump rope but unfortunately wasn't fast enough with the camera.
The last time we saw the Magic Kingdom we were passing by it on the Monorail Halloween night and it was very black and orange. So we didn't expect to see Christmas decorations up already. But there they were in the Expo Hall and in Tony's. Still a long way to go but Christmas is definitely coming.
Christmas Comes to Tony's
We walked up Main Street and there, to the right of the hub, was further proof of Christmas' approach ...
We presume, like last year, the tree will remain there until the Christmas Parade is filmed, then it'll head to Town Square where it belongs.
Took Rebekah to see the High School Musical Pep Rally. She's a big fan and pointed out how nice it was they had non-traditional body types cast in the various roles since not conforming to assumed roles is an important part of the moral of the movie. Next we saw the new Dream-Along with Mickey castle show. I liked it better this time than the first. There's one point in it where after the princes and princesses dance Mickey asks Minnie to dance. Minnie says "Me? Oh no I couldn't, I'm not a princess". Mickey replies "Gosh Minnie, you've always been a princess to me". We've been lucky enough to meet Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor, the voices of Mickey and Minnie (who are married in real life and are two wonderful people), and picturing him saying that to her brought a tear to my eye.
While waiting for the show we talked to a lady from San Juan, TX on her first trip to WDW - a 7 day, on-property vacation. I get so jealous of people getting to experience WDW for the first time. That's a magic I'll obviously never get to experience again. But that's what memories are for, I suppose.
On our way out we talked to a member of the Dream Squad about how much she loves her job. Can you imagine a better job than walking up to WDW guests and giving them something for free? She was from Tennessee - I think that's the best of the southern accents. I love accents and I'm not sure anyplace brings more of them together than WDW. Yet another reason to love Disney.
