Epcot 8th Annual Flower and Garden Festival Details, Music Legends Concerts

Groove into Spring with "Flower Power" Music Legends At 8th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Hit-makers from the '60s and '70s will encore the era of the "British invasion," "peace signs" and "love beads" setting the tone for the eighth annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival with the Flower Power 2001 Concert Series April 20 through June 3.

From the opening night shows featuring The "Happy Together" Turtles through the closing night by Arlo "The City of New Orleans" Guthrie, Flower Power will feature live performances by musicians who took part in capturing an era in song. Among them, the Flower Power acts contributed to 118 Top 40 hits, including 15 No. 1's.

The 1980s and 1990s also are represented in this year's lineup, by Starship and The Nelsons. But both of those acts have roots deeply within the '60s. Starship "grew" from Jefferson Airplane. The Nelsons are Gunnar and Matthew, the identical twin sons of rock legend Ricky Nelson.

A total of 15 acts will take the stage during the six-week Flower Power Concert Series, including such international chart-toppers as Davy Jones, Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone, Paul Revere and The Raiders, and Gary Puckett.

Performance times are 4:30, 5:45 and 7:10 p.m. at the American Gardens Theatre. Here's the complete lineup:
