Michelle Smith's column on It's a Small World got some great feedback, including one comment about The Disney Channel - something that wasn't mentioned in her article.
This really has nothing to do with small world even though it is very exciting! I just wanted to voice an opinion about the Disney channel! It is very disappointing since they took off Vault Disney! I feel like I have been bombarded with teen Disney 90 percent of the time....yes, I have emailed them and they give me the basic surgery answer. Anyway, do you think that anyone else cares? I just miss the old Walt Disney presents, the old movies, the interviews and Disney trivia. It is sad because this generation does not even know who the man Walt Disney was.
NOW if they'll only do what they did to It's a Small World to the poor Tiki Room.
First, let me say that I enjoy your comments and I think you do a fantastic job! The reason I write is in reference to your column on Its a Small World. Growing up this was my favorite ride, just ask my mom who is now sick of it! I was scared of roller coasters and so IASW appealed to me immensely. I want to quote something you said in the article: "As much as people joke about the attraction, I think it's my favorite in Disneyland. I'm just so glad that the original New York World's Fair soundtrack and gleaming white spires are back. Now, if only we could admire those spires from the Peoplemover...." Well Personally I want Rocket Rods back, please don't hate me! I do miss PM but those Rods where awesome. Anyhoo please continue to bless us with these great articles.
Doobie's Editor's Report on a quiet day at Disneyland found some nostalgic eyes:
Thanks Doobie, I really enjoyed that report. When I lived closer to DL, one in three of my trips would be solo and there were many times I didn't get further than Rod's piano. Once, sitting with a friend on the porch, some kids saw us and said "look! It's Bartles and James"
Doobie, I too love the porch on Main Street. I often take a break there when wanting to get away from the crowds or just to relax. Thanks for bringing back so many happy memories and for sharing your Laughing Place!
Your telling me you went inside and didn't even ride any rides? You're crazy! J/K I guess if you lived there and went all the time sometimes you would go just to do what you did. But I still think you crazy!

Rhett Wickham's animation expertise has been a welcome addition to LaughingPlace.com. His article on sequels go a lot of attention.
Rhett: well-said, my dear-hearted, pure-quality-loving animation friend! As I read your article, I was amazed at how much of what you had to say hit home with me. Kudos to you for a well-written, well-spoken article that completely encapsulates what is truly going on with the near-sighted mindset at Disney animation...(Quick cash instead of High Quality.) As for me, my wife, and my 2 young girls (ages 5 and 1)... gimme a higher-quality product, and I will gladly shell out a few extra bucks for the chance to proudly display the high-quality product sequel in my Disney collection of DVD's!
I really hate those video sequels. I've seen a few of them on broadcast TV and couldn't believe how thin and lightweight they are. The previews on the dvds horrify me, when those blue graphics appear I frantically reach for the menu button to get to the real movie. I will buy any of the animated features on dvd as they are released, but I don't know who would want to own any of the cheap-quels.
Wonderfully written and insightful, and sadly too true. Keep sharing your thoughts, for you speak for a great many of us with less artistic verbal skills.
