The MouseBear Family Trip to Disney's California Adventure

Bountiful Valley Farm
When we reached the Farm, Sam and Susie immediately plunged into the water play area. When
they were both quite wet Susie decided she wanted to check out the craft area. I took Sam
to see Its Tough to a Bug. Wed seen this at WDW, but it was still great fun.
The effects in the DCA version seemed to work a bit better. We joined the ladies in the
craft area and Sam made a worm (he REALLY likes bugs) to compliment (or eat?) Susies
corn husk doll. Next we got to experience Farmer Mickeys Hoedown. This was an
EXTREMELY silly set-up for a character greeting. The kids did get to dance on stage with
Mickey. They loved this so much they saw the show FOUR more times. I think my wife is
seeing Farmer Mickey in her nightmares. There isnt much else to do at the Bountiful
Valley Farm so we headed over to Disney Animation.

Hollywood Pictures Backlot
It took us forever to get to the Disney Animation Building because there were so many
characters on the backlot. We got autographs and pictures with Mulan, Mushu, Kronk, Kuzko,
and Esmeralda. We finally got to Animation and the kids were mesmerized! We spent a
long time just watching the lobby screens change from Animated Classic to Animated
Classic. The kids also loved the film with Mushu, and the game where you have to perform
to get your voice back. Susie wanted to explore further so I decided to take Sam on
Superstar Limo. I dont like to be negative, but this ride was AWFUL. Hopefully the
rumors of it's demise are true. Sam did like the limos. When we got back Susie still
wanted to explore Animation so Elaine took Sam to Muppets 3D. He loved the
attraction, but he was wearing out. So we headed back to the hotel to swim and to rest up
for our dinner with Doobie and Rebekah.

The Eureka! Parade, and more
Crafts
After a swim, a nap, and some lunch we headed back into DCA for Eureka! The kids loved the
high energy and wild movements of the Parade. They were dancing to the music throughout.
When the Parade was over Susie spotted a craft table by the Pacific Wharf. So we headed
over to make fish and Chinese lanterns. Once the kids finished we took the Bakery and
Tortilla Tours. These were short enough to hold the kids interest, and interesting
to Elaine and I. (That you got fed was cool too!) We then decided to catch Steps in Time
before dinner.
