Toon Talk Trivia:

• Daveigh Chase will next be heard as the voice of Chihiro in Disney’s English-dubbed version of Hayao Miyazaki's animated blockbuster Spirited Away (set to open September 20^th) and also in the upcoming ABC cartoon Fillmore!
• Tia Carrere voiced Marigold in the Hercules animated series.
• Ving Rhames was also heard in Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within as Sgt. Whitaker.
• David Ogden Stiers, a Disney voice favorite, was Cogsworth and the prologue narrator in Beauty and the Beast, Governor Ratcliffe and Wiggins in Pocahontas, the Archdeacon in The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mr. Harcourt in Atlantis: The Lost Empire. He returned as Ratcliffe in Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World and voices Mr. Jolly on Teacher’s Pet. Stiers also starred in the live action films Iron Will and Jungle 2 Jungle.
• Jason Scott Lee played Mowgli in the live action version of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.
• Kevin Michael Richardson (the shark like Captain Gantu) will return to voice characters in the Tarzan and Jane direct-to-video feature (due July 23^rd) and The Country Bears (opening July 26^th). He can also be heard on television in Recess, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Lloyd in Space, The Legend of Tarzan, Hercules and House of Mouse, as well as the video movie of Buzz Lightyear, the feature Recess: School’s Out and as the main character in the video Whispers: an Elephant’s Tale.
• Susan Hearty (the frazzled Rescue Lady) was the dialect coach on The Parent Trap remake.
• Amy Hill (the near-sighted Mrs. Hasagawa) can be heard in The Proud Family and seen in Max Keeble’s Big Move.
• Chris Sanders previously worked on The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mulan (winning two ‘Annie’ Awards) and Fantasia 2000.
• Co-director/screenwriter Dean DeBlois worked on Mulan as well.
• Animator Andreas Deja, best known for his villains such as Scar and Jafar, was the lead animator for Lilo.
• Lilo and Stitch was produced entirely at the Disney Animation Studio in the Disney-MGM Studios in Florida.
• Alan Silvestri also composed the scores for Disney’s Flight of the Navigator, Father of the Bride, Super Mario Bros., Judge Dredd, Father of the Bride Part II and the remake of The Parent Trap, but is best remembered for his creative and memorable score for Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
• Seven classic Elvis Presley tunes are featured on the film’s soundtrack (five original recordings plus two covers, one from country diva Wynonna and an end-credit “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” by teeny-boppers A*Teens). This is the first time a Disney Feature Animation film has extensively used pre-existing songs.
• The Adventures Continue: a direct-to-video sequel for Lilo and Stitch is already in the works, as is an animated television series, titled The Adventures of Lilo and Stitch.
• In jokes: a postcard for the Magic Kingdom in Orlando can be seen on a display rack when Lilo takes Stitch out for ice cream; a Mulan poster hangs on Nani’s bedroom wall; a plush Dumbo is among Lilo’s toys.
