The Dickens Carolers serenade guests
at the Disneyland Pacific Hotel
Another popular group in the Magic Kingdom is the Dickens Carolers. The most festive time of the year would be very dull without the live sounds of carolers. In this magical array of Yule-time cheer, The Dickens Carolers endlessly go up and down Main Street, USA to bring cheer to all the businesses along the way. The Carolers also bring cheer to the Disneyland hotels, sometimes in a very personal way via caroling at tables in the restaurants.

It also must be said that the Atmosphere talent groups are indeed unique and very professional. Each group inside of Disneyland has a unique sound, or unique act. The Bayou Brass, a recent addition to Disneyland, combines the sounds of Jazz with the brash Cajun appeal. The mix brings to life an upbeat montage of sound and excitement. The Bayou Brass is an exciting musical journey through exceptional musicianship.
In the tradition of Tomorrowland, many groups have been thought up and then let go because they were outdated. One of these groups was one of my favorites. That group was Transtar. These aliens from another planet drove around in their Starspeeder graciously playing many celestial tunes all with a computer ala midi edge. This funny group had a great opening with 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was the ultimate opening for such a strange band. This was the ultimate theming for the Disneyland resort. A space band in a space land!

Billie Hill and the Hillbillies brought sounds out of the hills and into Disneyland. Their mix of blue grass and musical comedy brought the house down at all their performances. Now located at the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, this madcap groups plays five times a day and brings smiles to all in attendance. The venue gives the Hillbillies the chance to play with the guests, separating the barrier they once had at the Golden Horseshoe Stage. This unique ability is what makes Disney atmosphere talent groups memorable.
