Roy and Minnie at the Magic Kingdom
In the fall of 1999 Roy O. Disney received a statue in Town Square similar to the Walt and Mickey "Partners" statue in the hub. Roy Oliver Disney was Walt Disney's brother and the man who was determined to get Walt Disney World opened despite Walt's death. On October 25th, 1971, Roy dedicated Walt Disney World in a nationally televised ceremony. Roy died two months after the dedication on December 20, 1971.
New Indy Speedway
Late last year sponsorship of the Tomorrowland Speedway was taken over by the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the attraction renamed the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. In
addition it has undergone a complete facelift as shown below:
