Cynthia Harriss
Harriss was interviewed right after the parade.

LaughingPlace.com: How does it feel?

Cynthia Harriss: This is so exciting, isn’t it? I mean it is just really thrilling. Not only is this going to be a great event for all the guests who remembered it, people like my friend Jessica (Harriss' Little Sister for the day) who was with me today - this is the first time she’d ever seen it. So there’s a whole group of individuals….

LP: Why bring it back now?

CH: The overwhelming response from you and everybody else that kept saying come, bring it back. So many of our guests - it's their favorite.

LP: Why at DCA?

CH: The parade is a California tradition and since that is what we want to do here at Disney’s California Adventure - celebrate California - we just thought it was perfect for its inaugural summer here to have a great way to celebrate it.

LP: California Adventure seems to be focusing a lot more children lately.

CH: Disney has always been for children big and small and we wanted to have a chance to bring that here to Disney’s California Adventure and it will be here all summer long.

Paul Pressler
Pressler was interviewed shortly after the parade.

LaughingPlace.com: I remember watching you throw the switch five years to close the parade. Back then, did you think it would ever be back?

PP: I never thought it would come back. It was so hard to say goodbye and so emotional. I didn’t think we would have the heart to bring it back and of course it made its tour to Walt Disney World at the Magic Kingdom there and our guests absolutely loved it. And of course we get letters all the time, guests want it back so we thought what better way to celebrate the fantastic California entertainment phenomenon but bring it back here to Dsiney’s California Adventure.

LP: Why Now?

PP: We know that we have great nighttime entertainment over at Disneyland with Fantasmic and we felt that Disney’s California Adventure would benefit with a great nighttime spectacular as well. So we put 2 + 2 together and said let’s do it.

LP: How long is it supposed to run?

PP: (laugsh) Forever! (big laugh) However long forever is.
