Tokyo DisneySea
Again, Tokyo Disneyland is Christmas central at the Tokyo Disney Resort. All the
Christmas promotion is focused around that park, and none of it on DisneySea.
No attempt has been made at DisneySea to steal the spotlight. Although exceptionally
tasteful, beautifully crafted, and creatively appropriate in their placement, the
decorations at DisneySea are few and far between.
Buona Sere Serenade pretty much sums up DisneySea's lack of emphasis on Christmas. Tokyo Disneyland's "Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks show is launched from between the two parks and can be easily seen from nearly all of DisneySea. During DisneySea's first month or so, there was essentially a "Don't mind those booming fireworks. They're for the other park." attitude toward the show. Of course, they weren't ignored and thankfully a medley of songs relating to DisneySea's ports and attractions was pieced together and played throughout the park during the show.
With the coming of Christmas, the final song of the medley
has been changed to "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and the show given the title
"Buona Sere Serenade".
