Daina Baker: Mickey it is so great to have you and your pals help celebrate today and you know what Mickey? It’s my privilege to officially welcome you to this celebration as our Guest of Honor. But you know what Mickey? There’s somebody else here that would like to help us celebrate and who has some exciting news too. Everyone please help me welcome the President of the Disneyland Resort, Cynthia Harriss.

Cynthia Harriss: Wow. Well thank you Daina and Mickey. Hey, what a day. Happy birthday everybody. Thanks for joining us today. We’re just thrilled that you’re all here. This is absolutely a great day. This is one of my favorite days here at Disneyland because this is the day that we have the honor and privilege to celebrate that man behind the magic. And it is true, it did all start with a mouse, right? We love you Mickey, we love you.
Well yes it was 48 years ago, July 17th really began the culmination of that magical dream of Walt Disney. His glorious dream is what is still alive today here at Disneyland because of all of you, our wonderful guests. So thank you for making this magic come true each and every day. And of course all of our fabulous Disneyland Resort Cast Members who extend that gracious guest service to all of you each and every day. Now as we were reminded earlier, Walt Disney dedicated this special place with the hope that it would be a source of joy and inspiration for the world. And today, 48 years later, it is a source of joy and inspiration that Walt Disney so dearly loved. Walt Disney’s enchanting kingdom is a living tribute to all who have dreams, inspire others and continue to look forward to tomorrow as a better day.

And while today is the day that we’re celebrating the 48th birthday, and we’re all going to have a great time today, we’re getting ready for what you know is a big day for the big 50 just right around the corner. And as you can imagine this golden anniversary will be nothing like the world has ever seen before because in true Disney fashion we will celebrate this in an extraordinary manner. But actually, you’re going to have to stay tuned for more on that because that will be another day. Because right now we are having a wonderful, huge year right hear at the Disneyland Resort.
You know we started out the year with that great, very endearing and sweet new attraction, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh that we so love here at Disneyland. And right now I hope a lot of you, either today or tomorrow will go on over there and enjoy Disney’s California Adventure’s exciting new XGames that have made it a really fun and exciting summer. But you know, that’s not all. We’re looking forward to this Fall where we’ll bring back the Fiesta Latina at Disney’s California Adventure in a bigger and better way. Yes, salsa dancing out there, yes absolutely. And then of course next Spring we’re all getting ready for the amazing Twilight Zone’s Tower of Terror. All this says is that what we are doing each and every day is carrying on that dream that has been Walt’s for the last 48 years of every day bringing something wonderful and extraordinary for all of us to enjoy together with our families.

It’s so good that Mickey’s here to just take good care of us. You know what, Mickey reminded us in all of the excitement of talking about what fun we’re going to have today we forgot the most important thing. That’s to sing Happy Birthday to Disneyland. So are you guys all ready to sing with us? Okay, well with that I’m going to turn over the honor to Mickey to lead us in the song and of course we’ll be backed up by the wonderful Groove 66 so Mickey, will you join us? Everybody, everybody has to sing.
