Disneyland Resort Paris
Due to the financial burden on the parent company, it has been difficult for
EuroDisney SCA to announce any substantial new offerings to celebrate
Disneyland’s golden jubilee. Negotiations are continuing with creditors and a
new package will need to be agreed this summer. However, Jay Rasulo (who remains
a director at the parent company) was keen to ensure their participation in the
global celebration.

Therefore, a new fireworks show based closely on the Magic Kingdom’s Wishes display (indeed, even sharing the name) has been commissioned. However, due to strict local restrictions on exploding shells, the display will not be as explosive as its Floridian counterpart. However, Steve Davison’s storyline and direction will remain the underlying spirit of this new spectacle.
In addition, imagineers indicated that DLRP are trying to put together a new parade, in order to retire the aging Wonderful World of Disney parade that has appeared in numerous guises over the past few years (including the current Princesses Parade) and a new show for the Chaparral Theater to replace Tarzan.
However, it is now highly unlikely that the Walt Disney Studios Park will receive a version of the popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (soon to be at the other three resorts) or any other investment beyond entertainment changes for the foreseeable future.
Wishes will run throughout the 2005 summer season, beginning July 9.

Literally until the last minute, it was believed that TDR’s parent company, OLC
had declined an invitation to participate in the global celebration. It has
since transpired that Jay Rasulo applied pressure and ultimately the OLC board
relented. However, their contribution is somewhat limited to a new looping
coaster for TDS (based on the Indiana Jones Backwards attraction at Disneyland
park in Paris), which is already under construction and had been announced
officially by OLC last year and plans for some "appropriate" entertainment.
Although there were numerous OLC representatives at the 50th unveiling, not a
single director attended the event, suggesting that relations remain strained
between Burbank and Miahama.
With new shows debuting during 2004 at the two main stages at Tokyo Disneyland, it seems unlikely that the park will be able to celebrate the 50th, perhaps making way for TDS to be the focal point of the Japanese celebrations. Further details will be released in early 2005.
