If you’ve never played either Kingdom Hearts game, what are you waiting for? Each are packed with action and Disney animated goodness.
Kingdom Hearts
The one that started it all. Donald and Goofy (as well as a rotating cast of other supporting Disney stars) get Sora’s back as the Final Fantasy character sets out to stop the Heartless from spreading evil throughout the world. The game was an improbable union between Square Enix and Disney Interactive but the sleeper hit became a PlayStation 2 classic.
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Sora returns to the worlds and revisits the characters from KH, packed with quality graphics, gameplay and storytelling (which served to connect the two PS2 games) this game was a rare release for the handheld platform in that it had an almost console presentation feel to it. But in a twist, instead of the traditional action-RPG gameplay, the game featured a strategy/card game mechanic. Players collected Disney character cards and played those cards from the collected decked – while organizing cards in the right order helped make more successful attacks. This made the gameplay a bit mechanic and repetitive, but the presentation made it easy for gamers to look beyond that fault. |
