As this was a 3 ½ hour event, it would be impossible to quote all the wonderful speakers such as Leonard Maltin, who showed a film that Roy had completed called Destino. The animated cartoon was begun in 1945 as collaboration between Walt Disney and Spanish painter Salvador Dali and was only completed in 2003. Jodi Benson (Ariel from the Little Mermaid) sang Part of Your World, which clearly moved the audience. Disney chronicler, John Culhane spoke movingly about his own association. There was a charming and appropriate Irish dance by members of the Margaret Cleary Dance Studio as the Disney’s are of Irish descent. The event ended with Broadway’s Mufusa in The Lion King, Alton White, who was joined by the Biola University gospel choir for a beautiful rendition of “He Lives in You.”

The event ended with Don Hahn saying “I want to end with an Irish blessing. May the road rise to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine upon your face and rains fall soft upon your fields. And Roy, until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Thank you, everybody. Good afternoon.”
