Toon Talk: Top 10 of 2010 - The Year's Best Disney Films and DVDs
Page 2 of 2
With its strong characters, imaginative setting and memorable music, well take last years foray into fairy tales over this years model, even if Tangled was the bigger success at the box office.
From 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to Under the Sea, the beautiful briny is familiar territory for Disney, yet it never looked as majestic or as full of life as in Disney Natures second feature.
The Fantasia Anthology extras may have been MIA, but theres no denying how fantastic the Fantasias looked in HD.
Cars scene stealer Mater stars in nine hilarious shorts that take him from Tokyo to Spain to outer space. Dad gum!
28 years after the original Tron, we returned to the Gaming Grid for a fast-paced, effects-laden extravaganza.
A rollicking adventure set in the age of Vikings and fire-breathers, this hit from former Disney directors Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois (Lilo & Stitch) is easily my favorite from DreamWorks Animation to date.
Special mention must also be made of two other non-Disney toons from 2009, now on DVD and highly recommended: Adam Elliots Mary and Max and Tomm Moores The Secret of Kells.
Special Thanks
To all the artists and filmmakers who have contributed to Disney films and video this year, with special mentions to:
Tim Allen, Howard Ashman, Ned Beatty, Jeff Bridges, Pierce Brosnan, Joan Cusack, Daft Punk, Jake Gyllenhaal, Don Hahn, Tom Hanks, Anne Hathaway, Garrett Hedlund, Michael Keaton, Hayao Miyazaki, Alfred Molina, Donna Murphy, Michael Sheen, Lee Unkrich and Mia Wasikowska.
