Guide to the Rock Your Disney Side 24 Hr Parties at Disneyland and Walt Disney World

Here is the information you may need while attending the Rock Your Disney Side parties at the Disneyland Resort and the Magic Kingdom. If you can’t make the festivities, follow @Laughing_Place for updates all day, night, and day.

Disneyland Resort:

Carpooling Incentives:

The Disneyland Resort has announced incentives for guests to carpool for the Rock Your Disney Side 24 Hr Party. Guests who arrive at a Disneyland Resort parking lot with four or more guests in the vehicle will receive the following incentives.

  • All guests and Annual Passholders without pre-paid parking will receive a discounted parking rate of $8 (for a standard vehicle) when arriving with four or more passengers.
  • Annual Passholders with pre-paid parking will receive one voucher for one free popcorn scoop and one bottled beverage, redeemable at any Disneyland or Disney California Adventure park outdoor vending cart. At least one passenger in the vehicle must be a valid Annual Passholder with pre-paid parking privileges.
  • All Annual Passholders and their passengers can also receive a special Toy Story commuter button. At least one passenger in the vehicle must be a valid Annual Passholder. And don’t be late – button quantity is limited and will be given while supplies last!

Arrival Information:

  • No guests will be permitted to line up before 12 a.m. on May 23.
  • Guests may bring games, blankets, chairs, tents and sleeping bags, but chairs and tents must be returned to your car by 3 a.m. Blankets, sleeping bags and games may be stored in a locker.
  • At 3 a.m., all guests in line will be moved through Security checkpoints to the Disneyland Resort Esplanade, where the first 2,000 guests in line will receive exclusive, commemorative Rock Your Disney Side 24-Hour event lanyards.
  • No smoking, fighting or loud music will be allowed.
  • Disneyland Security and the Anaheim Police Department will be present throughout the night and into the next morning.
  • All guests in line will be able to temporarily leave the line to use the restroom, purchase food or beverages, and return or retrieve items from their vehicles/hotel rooms.
  • Guests arriving prior to 5 a.m. on May 23 will be directed to park in the Simba lot.
  • Costumes should be child-friendly and adhere to any guidelines determined by Disney.
  • Costumes should not be obstructive, offensive or violent; drag on the ground; contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest; contain any weapons or objects which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
  • Guests who dress like Disney characters may not pose for pictures or sign autographs.
  • Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused admission.
  • Regular park admission used on May 23 is valid for the entire 24-hour period (6 a.m. on May 23 through 6 a.m. on May 24). A special ticket is not required for this event.
  • SoCal Select Annual Passports will not be valid for admission on May 23.
  • SoCal, Premium, Deluxe and Premier Annual Passports will be valid for admission during the entire 24-hour period.

Pre-Party:

  • Starting at 4am, a DJ will be rocking the Esplanade. The DJ will be joined by some Disney friends as well.
  • A hand-crafted Olaf sand sculpture will be created in the Esplanade. The sculpture will be eight feet high, take more than 40 hours to create and made out of 9 tons of sand.
  • Disney will kick off a “Show Your Disney Sidewalk” program with artist Noah creating a piece of chalk art showing Mickey enjoying summer on the beach at Paradise Pier. Upon completion, the piece will be donated to Autism Speaks for auction.

Entertainment:

Disneyland:

  • Mickey’s Soundsational Parade is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
  • The Magic Eye Theater in Tomorrowland, home of Captain EO, will host the Avengers Super Hero Movie Marathon throughout the day and night, presenting “Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
  • Fantasmic! will be performed at 9pm and 1030pm.
  • “Magical,” the fireworks show will occuer at 925pm
  • There will be a DJ at Sleeping Beauty Castle following the fireworks until 5am.
  • Royal Swing Ball presents a live band in the Royal Theatre at Fantasy Faire from 10pm to 2am
  • There will also be a live band at Tomorrowland Terrace until 5am.

Disney California Adventure:

  • Live music throughout the day and night at the Paradise Garden Bandstand, with performances scheduled from 1155am to 230am.
  • There will be extra performances of Disney Junior- Live on Stage at 930am and Aladdin- A Musical Spectacular at 755pm.
  • Muppets Theater plays will feature sing-along screenings of  Frozen starting at 1130am.
  • “World of Color” will be presented on Paradise Bay at 945pm. and again at 3am.
  • There will be a dance party at the Pacific Wharf from 1030pm to 5am.
  • Mad T Party will run from 9pm to 5am in Hollywood Land.

Dining:

World of Color Breakfast Package:

Disney California Adventure is offering a breakfast package for the 3am performance of World of Color during the Rock Your Disney Side 24hr party on May 23-24. From 1130pm to 130am guests can have breakfast at the Wine Country Trattoria or Ariel’s Grotto and receive reserved viewing for the early morning showing of DCA’s nighttime spectacular. Ariel’s Grotto will feature their regular breakfast menu, but as Wine Country Trattoria does not normally offer breakfast, they will have a special menu. The entrees are  the all-American breakfast of bacon and eggs($17.99); Bananas Foster French toast ($18.99); hot oatmeal and fresh fruit ($15.99), or steak and eggs ($22.99). For children, they can chose from the all-American breakfast ($10.99), a smaller portion of Bananas Foster French toast ($11.49) or a breakfast slider ($9.99). All meals come with assorted pastries.

Disney is not taking reservations for this offering. Seating is by walk-up only.

Table-Service Options Carnation Café: Fried Sampler Plate with crispy fried zucchini, crunchy onion rings, and those addictive fried pickles.

  • Blue Bayou Restaurant: Pan-seared New York pepper steak topped with asparagus, poached egg, lump crab meat, Cabernet and Béarnaise sauces with potato galette.

Quick-Service Options:

  • Plaza Inn: Fried Chicken and Waffles
  • Jolly Holiday Bakery Café: Super Sub Sammie with salami, cappicola, prosciutto topped with kicky arugula salad, whole-grain mustard and citrus aioli on a French roll.
  • Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor: Black and White Ice Cream Sandwich with hand-scooped vanilla ice cream between chocolate chip cookies with a white and dark chocolate drizzle and mini chocolate chips.
  • Rancho del Zocalo: Street Taco Trio with beef, chicken or carnitas on corn tortillas with cilantro and onion and topped with salsa casera or salsa verde. Also lightly fried sopes (fried masa cakes) with refried beans, beef, chicken or carnitas, shredded cabbage, cotija cheese and drizzled with salsa casera or salsa verde. Or pozole, a mild chile and pork stew with hominy, garnished with shredded cabbage, julienned radishes and oregano
  • French Market Restaurant: Shrimp Po’ Boy with crispy popcorn shrimp, mayo, sliced tomato and shredded lettuce with oil and vinegar, served on a toasted potato roll with house-made potato chips and fresh fruit.
  • Village Haus Restaurant: “Pastram’boli” Flatbread: cheesy roasted garlic flatbread with beef pastrami, caramelized onions and pickles and topped with a Dijon mustard sauce. Also try the apple berry flatbread with poached apples on sweet cream cheese topped with fresh berries and mint.
  • Hungry Bear Restaurant: Sweet and Spicy Hot Dog on a jalapeño cheddar roll with honey mustard and sautéed onions and peppers.
  • Harbour Galley: Turkey Tortilla Soup with roasted corn and black beans, garnished with sour cream, pico de gallo and fried tortilla strips.

Snacks:

  • Stage Door Café: funnel cake fun with red velvet funnel cake with cream cheese frosting, raspberry and mango funnel cake a la mode and blueberry and kiwi funnel cake a la mode.
  • Bengal Barbecue: two sweet skewers – brownies and crispy cereal squares.
  • Mint Julep Bar: Super Power Punch with sprite, a shot of cotton candy and Dessert Pear gourmet syrup.

Breakfast:

  • Café Orleans: Bananas Foster French Toast made with thick-cut brioche that’s battered and grilled then topped with caramelized bananas and caramel sauce. Bacon on the side. Also a Mickey-shaped mushroom-and-asparagus frittata and slow-braised short ribs with ñora pepper sauce.
  • Tomorrowland Terrace: Breakfast Burrito with eggs, chorizo, pico de gallo, tomatillo salsa, queso fresco and black beans in a flour tortilla with fresh fruit.

Disney California Adventure:

  • Wine Country Trattoria: Surf & Turf featuring roasted lobster tail and grilled sirloin with mac ‘n cheese croquet and a lemon beurre blanc and blue cheese demi-glace.

Quick-Service Options:

  • Lucky Fortune Cookery: Steamed Chicken and Veggie Dumpling Bowl with rice and rice wine vinegar dipping sauce.
  • Award Wieners: Raven’s Feast hot dog with barbecued pulled pork and seasoned red cabbage slaw on a garlic-chive brioche bun. Also the Dragon Storm with lemonade and grape syrup topped with Sprite and a green glow cube or Maleficent stir stick.
  • Taste Pilot’s Grill: Sweet and Spicy Chicken Sliders – one with teriyaki glaze, the other with Cajun seasoning and spicy Buffalo sauce. Served with combo of fries and onion rings.
  • Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill: Chicken Mole Plate with grilled half chicken topped with a spicy, smoky mole negro and served with rice, beans and a side of tortillas.
  • Pacific Wharf Café: Green Chile Corn Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl.
  • Flo’s V8 Café: Beef and Cheddar Sandwich; breakfast menu during regular breakfast hours and again from 11 p.m. – 6 a.m
  • Paradise Garden Grill: Mediterranean Angus Beef Pita Wrap – beef is drizzled with feta pepperoncini hummus and comes with Greek salad in a warm pita. Tabouleh on the side.
  • Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta: Mac & Cheese Flatbread with sun-dried tomato sauce, crispy bacon, mozzarella, and basil pesto.

Walt Disney World Resort bus and boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom is set to begin at 515 am and will continue throughout the event

The Resort Monorail will be operating from 515am on May 23 to 330 am on May 24. It will resume operation at 530 am on May 24 and run until 1am on May 25

For guests arriving by car, the Transportation and Ticket Center parking lot will be opening at 430 am. The Ferryboat and Monorail service out of the TTC to the Magic Kingdom will begin at 515am.

Entertainment:

  • There will be a special Magic Kingdom Welcome Show featuring heroes and villains as the park opens.
  • The 10am performance of the “Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!” Street Party will feature heroes and the 130pm performance will feature villains. The 545pm performance will feature characters decided by votes. Details on how this occurs will be announced on Friday.
  • There will be two performances of each parade with the Festival of Fantasy Parade occuring at 12pm and 330pm. The Main Street Electrical Parade will perform at 11pm and 1am. Each performance of the Electrical Parade will feature a villains “It’s Good to be Bad” pre-parade. Wishes will light up the sky at 9 and the Celebrate the Magic castle projection show will occur at 845pm, 945pm, and 1145pm.
  • At 11pm, half of Princess Fairytale Hall will be converted to Scary Tale Hall featuring Maleficent and the Evil Queen from Snow White. The other half will continue to feature Anna and Elsa.
  • At 145am, the villains take over the park’s meet-and-greet locations. For example, Jafar will be where Aladdin and Jasmine normally appear and Facilier will take the place of Princess Tiana.
  • Tomorrowland will feature the #INCREDIBLESSuperDanceParty at the Rockettower Plaza Stage from 430pm-10pm. After the dance party, the stage will feature screenings of The Incredibles from 11pm to 5am.
  • Later in the night, there will be dance parties at Cinderella Castle and Fronteirland from 2am-545am.
  • The evening will conclude with a special “Kiss Goodnight” at 550am at the Main Street Train Station in Town Square.
