One of the many perks of being a Disneyland Resort Annual Passholder is having the opportunity to attend exclusive events. No matter how big or small they may be these events are always a good time, and this one was no exception. On Tuesday August 12th the resort hosted exclusive AP screenings of Muppets Most Wanted in celebration of the Blu-Ray combo pack release of the film. The screenings took place inside of the Muppet Vision Theater in Disney’s California Adventure. Beginning at 9am Annual Passholders could check in with friendly cast members to receive a wristband for their preferred screening time. Color coded wristbands were distributed for the five movie times listed at both the entrance of the park and entrance of the theater. We chose to attend the 12:30 pm screening so we had time to grab a few fastpasses and have lunch.
Upon returning to the theater we were given a pack of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy pencils and welcomed in to the theater. Once inside the pre-show area we were greeted by cast members behind vending carts distributing our free popcorn and soda. Refreshments in hand, we shuffled into our seats and within minutes the show began. A cheerful host came out to get the crowd excited and involved by asking a variety of trivia questions, rewarding correct answers with a Muppets Most Wanted Blu-Ray combo pack. Questions ranged from the very simple, such as naming characters based on personality traits, to the more challenging, such as naming composers and directors used for Muppets films.
Once all of the prizes were given out the host introduced a couple of very special guests, Kermit and Miss Piggy themselves! Their introduction was met with thunderous applause and smiles were seen throughout the theater as Kermit performed The Rainbow Connection. Their performance was truly the highlight of the event, and every single attendee was left cheerful and excited for the film to begin. After cracking a few more final jokes Kermit and Miss Piggy introduced the film and the film began.
This was our first time seeing the film and we absolutely adored it! The plot was a fun continuation of the first film, the cast was spectacular, and in true Muppet fashion the cameos just kept coming and coming. We left the theater pleased by yet another wonderful AP event.
Muppets Most Wanted is now available on Blu-Ray combo pack
