Never before have I met characters before seeing their movie. Well, as they say “there’s always a first for everything.” And so, I ventured my way to the Starcade in Tomorrowland at Disneyland to meet Hiro and Baymax from Disney’s latest animation hit “Big Hero 6.”
As I waited for meet Hiro and Baymax, I was transformed to Hiro’s lab in San Fransokyo. At one point while waiting, Baymax needed to “be recharged,” so off he went with Hiro. Because Baymax is a bit on the bigger side, he left the lab walking sideways. It was pretty funny actually. Baymax returned a few moments later “fully charged” and ready to meet guests yet again. One thing I liked about Baymax is that he can blink his eyes. It made him feel more real, and important to the story and Hiro as well.
As I met Hiro and Baymax, the first thing I did was say hello to Hiro, and then give a hug to Baymax. Hiro asked if Baymax was like a marshmallow, and he definitely is. Baymax is definitely someone that is going to be a fan favorite for a long time to come. After that, it was picture time. After getting my picture taken, I was handed a special ‘Big Hero 6’ Photopass card. On the back of the card, you can find Hiro and Baymax’s autographs just in case you didn’t have a chance to get them. I then left the virtual world of San Fransokyo and made my way back to Tomorrowland.
You can meet Hiro and Baymax daily at Disneyland from 10:30am to 5pm. Hopefully you will have seen the movie before you meet them unlike me.
