First we start with a look at the ‘sneak preview’ of the new Disney film Cinderella.
Taking place inside the ABC Sound Studios, the former home to Sounds Dangerously attraction, features a sneak peek at the upcoming film Cinderella. The preview takes pretty much everything from the current trailers and teasers that have been released and adds in the full Fairy Godmother transformation scene. While I was not to crazy on this film when first announced, the trailers and this preview have actually sold me on it. The scene they show is Ella meeting her Fairy Godmother, played by Helena Bonham Carter, after her wicked step-sisters and step-mother ruin her mother’s dress that Cinderella mended to go to the Ball. It starts with Ella finding the old women in the garden who then turns into the Fairy Godmother before transforming the pumpkin, mice, lizards, and goose into the couch and all the added help. The Godmother then turns to Ella’s dress, Ella requests it stay the same because she will “feel like her mother is there with her” and they Godmother goes to work. As the dress starts to transform, in a very Sleeping Beauty style, the Godmother asks about changing from pink to blue. The scene ends with the glass slipper transformation before heading back into cuts from the trailer.
The preview did a perfect job in putting just enough to leave us wanting more! As we exited the theater, in true Disney style, we were handed a magnetic photo frame with a reminder of when the film opens!
Now for the big topic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios…the HAT! As we all know the hat’s removal started on Jan 7, so here we are about 2 weeks later and it’s still there, well parts of it anyway. Here’s a look at when the walls first went up to just a few days ago.
Also we here at LaughingPlace.com hoped in our DeLorean and hit 88 miles per hour to head into the future and found what the final plan for the hat really is! :)
Next we take a look at the Streets of America which are just recovering from The Osborn Spectacle of Dancing Lights.
As we take a look at the former area of the Frozen shop and snow area, we also take a look at some of the things that have changed in the past few months with the Backlot Tour closing and what could also be closing in the near future if some of the expansion rumors are true.
Finally before we head out of the studios I wanted to showcase something that not many park guests know about but really should, “character-palloza” that is not an official name nor will you find it on any map or time guide but it does happen almost every day. What “character-palloza” (I blame a Pirate for the name) is to the average guest is the best way to meet a hand full of characters without having to book a Fastpass or wait in a long line. To those of us in the know it’s what the characters who are going to be in Fantasmic later do before the show. The times do vary, I caught it around 3:45pm each day, depending on Fantasmic schedule and the link kind of gives a good idea of when you might see it. But really if you are a character fan this is a great way to see some even rare ones, again this is not a publicized event so not many Cast Members will have much info on it but if you are around the exit of Tower of Terror at the right time here are a few of the characters you might meet!
Oh and how could I wrap up a visit to the Studios without a look at what will be a huge draw for many of you in a few short weeks…STARBUCKS!
