I loved looking through all the new goodies available on the Disney Family site, particularly the fun new ideas shared in the “Mom’s Disney Sidekick” Again, in teaming up with Smuckers Uncrustable sandwiches, they’ve come up with fun ideas to make lunchtime great by adding a little Disney magic as well as new Hidden Mickey learning games, DIY Mickey lanyards, and so much more!
I decided to scroll through the site with my daughter, who I have to mention has become fascinated with the Little Mermaid in the last few months, and spotted a craft that neither one of us could pass up!
First, with the Ariel’s fish Valentine’s, you can either cut out hearts, or download this template. You can choose to cut out at many as you want, so I suggest only printing one template and cutting out multiple hearts at a time. It calls for scrapbook paper, but I used colored cardstock so I could add my own decoration. Along with googly eyes, I used sparkles, sequins, rhinestones, and a slew of other fun things!
After you cut out your hearts, remember to cut out even smaller hearts for their kissy lips. It’s not shown in this picture, but you can either use one color for the lips, or go ahead and make different colors for each fish. Then, glue them together as shown below-
On the backs of the fish, you can either leave a blank space or put a small white paper so it’s easier to see who it’s from-
And from there, the creativity is all yours! You can let your child’s imagination run wild as they create a personalized Valentine fish for their friends and family. In the case of my daughter, not only does she love Ariel, she’s quite fond of Mickey Mouse, so naturally, a couple fish were donned with Mickey Mouse ears.
I love that you can really make these your own and really personalize them for each person you give them to. This is a great way to tell someone special that you care about them this Valentines Day!
