Laughing Place is proud to announce their venture into book publication and the formation of Laughing Place Press.
The first Laughing Place Press publication will be The E-Ticket Life: Stories, Essays, and Lessons Learned from My Decidedly Disney Travels by Kyle Burbank. Burbank has been a frequent contributor to Laughing Place where his E-Ticket Life blog posts weekly on Saturdays.
“It feels like the book is a spin-off of the blog, but really the blog was a spin-off of the book,” Burbank said. “I’m really excited to share all of these stories that I’ve been working on writing for over a year now.” The book will also include three blog entries as voted on by Laughing Place readers.
The E-Ticket Life will share numerous stories from Burbank’s life as a Disney fan. Inspired by authors like David Sedaris and Sloane Crosley, the tales are both humorous and honest. Aaron Wallace, author of The Thinking Fan’s Guide to Walt Disney World: Magic Kingdom, noted this saying, “Kyle’s writing is genuine, hilarious, and uplifting. In his unique comedic voice, he reflects on how profoundly the Disney company can affect an otherwise “normal” person’s life. I suspect fans can relate. In fact, I lived through a number of these stories first hand, and even I’ve been surprised by how rich — in retrospect — a simple ‘walk in the park’ can be.”
In addition to being a “character” in the book, Wallace will also be writing the foreword. Artist Ashley O’Neill designed the book’s cover artwork and will also be providing original illustrations that will accompany the various chapters.
Laughing Place was founded in 1999 by Doobie and Rebekah Moseley. They can be found online at LaughingPlace.com as well as @laughing_place on Twitter.
