Disney’s Frozen is an iconic cartoon that has captured the imaginations and hearts of adults and children alike. The central characters provide humor and warmth amid the sparkling, icy beauty of the film’s landscapes.
A Frozen bedroom, then, is a great theme to go for! You can combine a snow and ice color scheme with the vibrancy of the Disney characters to create the perfect palace for your little princess.
The color scheme of Frozen is a lovely range of blues, turquoises and soft purples. You could choose an accent color to decorate wooden features such as the skirting board, picture rail and door, contrasting it with the main color selected for the walls. There is also the option of Frozen-themed wallpaper. Some of the wallpaper available is surprisingly sophisticated in design, and can very effectively pull a room together and emphasize the chosen theme. Once you have the walls to your liking, choose a complementary carpet color, and consider a Frozen rug that contrasts with the carpet.
What now? Well, any Frozen-themed bedroom needs a special bed fit for a princess. If you have a wooden framed bed, consider painting it white, pale blue or lavender. If you are looking to buy a new bed, one with an ornate headboard will really add a fairytale feel. To fully embrace the Frozen theme, there are several official duvet covers and pillowcase sets to choose from. You can then make things even more magical with some simple DIY: a fine fabric canopy draped over the bedhead and attached to the wall makes bedtime truly feel special. For a more luxurious princess bed, you could add a sumptuous silken bedspread to top the cotton duvet cover. For bedside lighting, choose either a Frozen themed lamp or nightlight, depending on your child’s preferences.
Now that you have the key items in place, it’s time to consider a centerpiece for the room. A colorful printed canvas is the perfect way to bring the room together and bring the theme to life. Choose a favorite scene with your child, and opt for a large, high-quality print on a wooden frame. Go as large as you can without overpowering the space. Consider a landscape or panorama format for a scene featuring several characters, or portrait for an image of just Elsa. Place it in a prime position where it can be seen from multiple positions in the room.
Finally, just finish the room with whichever Frozen accessories most catch the eye of you and your child. There are so many items to choose from, and you can focus on a favorite character or a certain key color. Remember you can always add to the collection over time, making Christmas and birthdays that bit easier to shop for.
Once you have a perfect Frozen themed bedroom, it’s time to enjoy it! Why not organize a sing-along for the kids, with ice cream and other frozen treats? “Let it go, let it go….”
