For the past few years ,the smell of chocolate has taken over the aroma of fresh flowers at Disney’s Grand Floridian. What has become a tradition of mine and many other Disney fans near Walt Disney World to wake up early have a nice breakfast and see the Easter Egg Display, with this year’s wowing us all beyond belief.Taking over the Grand Lobby the moment you step through the doors you can feel the cavities start to form from the smell of so much chocolate. Even Augustus Gloop wouldn’t last long before going into a sugar coma. This year’s batch— or clutch, because that is what a group of eggs are called — include a few returning favorites but more new ones than last year. Ranging from beautifully stylized to some with more “character,” families can spend hours looking at all the beautiful details Executive Pastry Chef Eric Herbitschek and his amazing team put together.
If you are in the Walt Disney World area, be sure to make a special visit Disney’s Grand Floridian before April 4th to see these amazing eggs and if you have little ones try to plan to be there around 3:30pm to enjoy the Princess Promenade.
