LEGOLAND Florida, located about 45 minutes from Walt Disney World, is one of the most hands-on and perfect to explore family theme parks around, but it is so much more than just a theme park. With over 20 rides that range from the DUPLO family member all the way to the Master Builder level, there is something for everyone.
Add in the great attractions like the MINILAND USA and the classic water ski show, there is far too much to try and see in one visit.
LEGOLAND Florida is the home of one of the oldest theme parks in the United States, built on the former site of Cypress Gardens. LEGOLAND has expanded to a whole new audience but has also preserved that piece of history, making it a perfect afternoon walkthrough of classic Florida. But enough about the past — LEGOLAND Florida just opened its newest and most interactive attraction: LEGO NINJAGO WORLD!This new interactive land, inspired by the popular LEGO building sets and the LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu TV show, has many hands-on experiences from the Cole’s Rock Climb to Jay’s Lighting Drill the kids will be busy.
Of course the real star of the new area is LEGO NINJAGO The Ride!
A state-of-the-art “dark ride” where guests score points using ninja hand moves to blast animated fireballs, lightning and more at waves of 3D villains. Children under 48 inches tall must ride with a responsible person 48 inches or taller who can ensure their safety.
This new ride is amazing. As an adult who grew up playing with LEGO blocks all my life and loves dark rides, this is perfect! This takes the shooting games like Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin or Toy Story Midway Mania and removes the laser cannon/Spring-Action Shooter to putt it all in the hands of the riders…literally! Guests use their ninja skills — or, in my case, lots of hand flailing — to blast fireballs at the villains. If you think you have had an arm workout, just wait till you tackle LEGO NINJAGO The Ride! The LEGOLAND Florida Resort is so much more than just LEGOLAND park, with one of the best-themed hotels I have ever seen and the LEGOLAND Waterpark. If you have kids, this alone is a reason to add more days to your vacation. LEGOLAND Florida Resort is also owned and operated by Merlin Entertainment and they offer shuttles for a small fee from their other attractions in Orlando at I-Drive 360 each day, so really you have no excuse not to head to LEGOLAND Florida and have some fun.
