Halloween Time has returned to the Disneyland Resort! Familiar features can be found at Disneyland Park, and new features have been added to Disney California Adventure. Joining the attraction overlays at the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain is a new nighttime version of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Disneyland is again the home of the Pumpkin Festival on Main Street USA. Greeting guests at Town Square is the giant Mickey pumpkin. Jack Skellington has also returned to offer his version of a holiday treat at Haunted Mansion Holiday. Over in Tomorrowland Space Mountain is again the spooky Ghost Galaxy.
Disney California Adventure has joined in the fun. Buena Vista Street has been decorated by Jack Skellington’s nemesis, Oogie Boogie. He can be seen, as well as heard, over the main entrance, Mickey and the gang are out in all new festive costumes in styles that fit the theme of Buena Vista Street. Guests will also find a towering statue of the Headless Horseman with special lighting and effects.
The biggest addition for 2017 is in Cars Land, where the residents have decorated their businesses for Haul-O-Ween. Mater and Luigi are offering new Halloween songs in their attractions, Sally and Flo have new menu items, and Ramon has created a traditional ofrenda as a special remembrance of Doc Hudson.
Both Buena Vista Street and Carsland will usher in the night with a lighting “moment” at dusk. Radiator Springs’ familiar neon lighting ceremony is given a holiday twist as Town Hall comes alive. On Buena Vista Street the tolling of the bells in the Carthay Circle Tower, followed by the mocking voice of Oogie Boogie as he summons his bats to light the street in the colors of the season.
Finally, in Disney California Adventure, the night finds the Collector’s Fortress filled with Tivan’s creatures as guests experience Monsters After Dark. Picking up the story immediately after Mission—Breakout, Terrans will now help Rocket rescue Groot from the monsters who are roaming freely through the attraction.
It wouldn’t be a Disneyland Resort holiday without special food. New menu items can be found throughout the Resort. Haul-O-Ween at Cars Land offers new comfort food and treats. The Paradise Garden Grill features a menu inspired by the upcoming Pixar release Coco. There the traditions of Dia de los Muertos are represented in special displays, crafts, and sweet and savory specialties.
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort runs through October 31st, 2017.
