Downtown Disney Anaheim held a special Grand Opening event to introduce a new shop in an old location. The former Anna and Elsa Boutique is now a shop for all the Disney Princesses. The new name, Dream Boutique, is an apt description for anyone seeking clothing, accessories or role-playing costumes based on many of the Disney princesses, from Snow White to Moana.
On Friday, October 6th an excited crowd gathered for the store’s debut. A Herald offered a royal proclamation and hinted at gifts in store for the first 100 lucky visitors. On hand to greet the crowd of early shoppers was Disneyland Resort Ambassador Alexa Garcia. Alexa introduced Todd Bennett, General Manager of the Downtown Disney District. In his comments, Bennett thanked the cast members and Imagineers who worked on the new store. Ambassador Garcia and Bennett then cut a red ribbon, signaling the official opening of the store.
Inside, guests were greeted with gift boxes. In addition to princess-themed items, many gift boxes contained gift cards in varying amounts. These could be used for any items available in the store. The space is now given over entirely to retail items, and no longer offers the princess makeovers that were a part of the Anna and Elsa Boutique. Guests can still get makeovers inside Disneyland Park at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland.
