Disney and Marvel Debut New Trailers
Fans had been anxiously anticipated the release of a few trailers and finally this week they got them. On Monday, Walt Disney Studios revealed the first full trailer for December 19th’s Mary Poppins Returns. The grown up Banks children get another visit from the beloved Mary who seems to have quite the knack for showing up when needed most.
Marvel fans were stoked this Tuesday when Brie Larson went on Good Morning America to drop the first Captain Marvel trailer. The March 8th movie will be the second to last addition to the MCU’s Phase 3. Audiences will head back in time—to the 90s that is—where Blockbuster is still a thing, Nick Fury has two eyes, and Captain Marvel (Larson) is a member of the alien military known as Starforce.
Walt Disney World Announces End for “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth”
After nearly 20 years of nightly shows, Epcot’s “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” will perform its final show in the second half of 2019. “Reflections of Earth” will be replaced immediately with a new show that’s currently in development for World Showcase Lagoon. While the news isn’t shocking, it is bittersweet as reminds guests of just how many changes have taken place and will continue to take place at Epcot.
Disney Reportedly Adding Marvel Shows to Streaming Service
The Avengers (as we know them) might not be doing much more assembling after 2019, but that doesn’t mean our favorite characters are going anywhere. Marvel is reportedly going to create shows for Disney’s streaming service that will focus on those who haven’t had a standalone film, like Loki and Scarlet Witch. At this time, fans can only speculate what will be, but it’s exciting to know there are more stories to tell about these incredible characters. Who’s side is Loki on this week? We might soon find out!
Get “Up Close with Rhinos” at Animal Kingdom
Disney is offering a new hands-on experience for guests at Animal Kingdom. Starting on November 1st, “Up Close with Rhinos” will give guests the opportunity to see behind the scenes of caring for the rhinos on Kilimanjaro Safaris. The hour-long guided tours will be hosted by cast members and guests might even get to touch a rhino. Reservations will be open soon. Tours will be offered once daily and have limited space.
Wreck-it-Ralph Really Wants to Break the Internet
We’re not sure if it’s an attempt to actually break the internet or if it’s just a fun coincidence, but this week, Ralph and crew were everywhere. A new trailer debuted for Ralph Breaks the Internet showing more of Ralph’s and Vanellope’s journey into the cyber world. In addition to the new trailer, another poster and images were revealed giving fans a closer look at the upcoming film. Also, Imagine Dragons wrote a song for the end credits that dropped this week along with a lyric video. And finally, our own Alex shared what he learned about the story, new characters and why Disney decided to make this sequel on a recent visit to the Walt Disney Animation Studios.
