Walt Disney World recently held an expo at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort for Cast Members that were interested in learning about the Disney Aspire program. This new educational investment program for hourly Cast Members and employees of The Walt Disney Company allows them to pursue fully-funded educational opportunities regardless of if it pertains to their current role within the organization.
We recently had the chance to speak with Chris Trout, VP of Development & Learning at The Walt Disney Company as well as several Cast Members that are interested in taking advantage of the program:
Here is a bit more about the program:
- More than 80,000 hourly employees are eligible to participate in the program
- Disney has announced an initial $50 million investment as well as a commitment to continuing the program
- Disney Aspire covers 100% of the tuition as well as reimbursements for application fees and required books and materials.
- The program includes a diverse array of education providers in partnership with Guild Education
As Disney fans, we appreciate all the work that the cast does to make our experiences the best they can be. It is great to see Disney investing in their cast so that they can grow throughout the organization.
