To celebrate the start of 31 Nights of Halloween, Freeform opened a Halloween House in Los Angeles for a few select nights. Unfortunately, due to the popularity of the two main films—The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus—tickets sold out quickly. Luckily, we were able to secure one of the hottest tickets in town to give you a tour.
The House was split between The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus (both celebrating 25 years since their releases) with different interactive photo opportunities all with free copies of the photos sent to you via e-mail.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Two of the rooms inside the house were set up as Oogie Boogie’s layer, complete with the Wheel of Misfortune that gave guests a chance to win anything from a trick (a ring or vampire fangs) to the grand prize an NBC toy, and Dr. Finkelstin’s Lab with a unique chance to be strapped to his operating table.
Hocus Pocus
The Hocus Pocus section took up the back lawn and the garage of the house giving you the chance to really step into this now classic Halloween film.
Once inside the Sanderson Cottage, you had the chance to explore and even “try” to light the Black Flame Candle if you were pure.
The highlight of the area was the chance to put on the guise of the Sanderson Sisters for a photo op of the iconic movie poster.
One of my favorite parts of the Freeform Halloween House was the fun headstones created to help promote some of the other films shown during the 31 Nights of Halloween.
But you couldn’t have a graveyard without everyone’s favorite ghost dog, Zero.
Once you have had your chance to step into your favorite Disney Halloween films, you could stop by the Butterfinger Buffet on the way out to pick up a sweet treat for the road.
We hope you enjoyed a tour of the Freeform Halloween House and remember to catch all your favorite “not so scary” Halloween movies during the 31 Nights of Halloween.
